Spermidine Shows Promise for Boosting Vaccine Response
A 2026 Aging Cell pilot study found that daily supplementation with 6 mg of spermidine was safe and well tolerated in adults over 65 years old following a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine booster. While overall immune responses were not significantly changed, older adults who had previously shown little or no vaccine response experienced notable improvements in anti-spike antibodies, neutralizing activity against multiple variants, and memory B-cell responses. The findings suggest that spermidine may help enhance immune resilience in vaccine non-responders by supporting cellular health and autophagy, a key process that declines with age. #LELearn #EDULiveforeverish
